Biography for Stephen X. Arthur,
freelance video script writer
Stephen earned a Master of Science degree from the University of British Columbia, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in film production from the University of Southern California. As a video-script writer, Stephen draws on six years experience authoring feature screenplays, seven years experience as a professional technical writer, eight years experience directing independent short films, and four years experience as a professional writer of educational, corporate, and training video scripts. Stephen taught "Writing for Film, Television, and Radio" at the Institute for Communication Arts in Vancouver, and was guest speaker on "Dramatizing Information" at the Society for Technical Communication in Vancouver. Of his six original, feature-length screenplays, three options to produce were sold to film producers in Los Angeles. Stephen’s many award-winning short films have screened in numerous film festivals worldwide over 36 years. Stephen was nominated for Best Director, Animated Production, at the BC Film and Television Industry Leo Awards, 2000. Clients for informational video scripts include B.C. Ministry of Forests, Hillsborough Resources, B.C. Cancer Research Centre, Justice Institute of B.C., and the National Film Board of Canada.
